Below are forthcoming NHS Southwest Section 12 and Approved Clinician Courses. All our courses use the highest quality trainers, and are driven by quality of content NOT profit.

The Approvals Lead or assistant are in attendance at all courses, to talk about the approval process and give one to one epxpert advice on individual application, talk through portfolio content etc, no other provider offers that level of expertise.

We have in 11 years of providing high quality training NEVER cancelled a training event even when numbers are low - not all providers can say that!!

All our venues have accommodation attached, and provide high quality refreshments and a two or three course lunch and cater for all dietary needs. On the two day courses there is an optional evening meal (on your own account) arranged for delegates who are staying at the venue, which provides and excellent opportunity to network and chat informally to the speakers and other delegates.

All our venues are close to either the M4 or M5 motorways, easily accessible by public transport and have free parking on site. They have full disabled facilities.

Doctors who have not been previously section 12 approved will be required to attend a section 12 course as well.

• TWO DAY APPROVED CLINICIAN COURSE 29 FEB & 1 MARCH 2012 BATH
  This lively, entertaining and educational course, with the published and highly acclaimed Paul Barber and Debbie Martin, both have many years experience in teaching mental health law. The course is held in the lovely Bailbrook House near Bath, it is accessible by public transport and close to J18 M4. It has free parking and excellent accommodation attached if needed. You will be given the option of a three course hot or cold meal each day on the course and all dietary requirements are catered for. The venue is fully equipment with disabled facilities. An excellent two day course at a very competitive price.

• APPROVED CLINICIAN REFRESHER TRAINING 1 MARCH 2012 BATH 
  The excellent one day course for multi-professional Approved Clinicians who require refresher training, the tutors are the published and highly acclaimed Paul Barber and Debbie Martin. The venue is excellent, with a three course hot and cold lunch to suit all dietary requirement. Plenty of free parking but easily accessible by public transport.

This course is suitable for Section 12(2) only doctors (NOT Approved Clinicians) who need to update their approval in 2010/2011. It is also most suitable for Section 12 GPs and FMEs.

It is a lively one day refresher course which is both interactive and didatic.

It is not suitable as an Approved Clinician Refresher course and is not suitable for those seeking initital section 12 approval.

All our venues have disabled facilities, free parking and easily accessible from Major Road systems and Public Transport. Good accommodation is available on site at all venues.

• SECTION 12 REFRESHER COURSE FOR BOTH CAMHS AND SECTOPM 12 DOCTPRS 16 MARCH 2012 TAUNTON 
  This lively interactive one day section 12 refresher is ideal for all section 12 approved psychiatrist and general practitioners who require refresher training. There are seperate afternoon CAMHS workshops .The venue as excellent facilities, accommodation if needed, free parking and accessible public transport.
  It serves good food and cater for all dietary requirements if requested.

These two day courses are for aspiring Section 12(2) approved doctors. They are lively interactive and always receive the highest feedback.

• TWO DAY SECTION 12 INDUCTION COURSE 15 & 16 MARCH 2012 TAUNTON 
  This course is suitable for doctors aspiring to gain section 12 approval. This course is also suitable for CAMHS doctors requiring section 12 approval as there are seperate CAMHS workshops on day two led by a senior CAMHS consultants. It is also suitable for doctors applying for approved clinician approval and who have not been previously section 12 approved.
  
  The course is lively interactive with opportunties for good discussions. The venue is accessible by public transport and just of j25 M5, it has excellent accommodation attached if required and a group dinner is organised in the evening which is optional. All dietary requirements are catered for with notice and is suitable for disabled applicants.
